These final memoirs I write in a sound state of mind

My intent not to repent but purely to ascend
There is no way back from this place where infinity abruptly ends

Spawned in the shadows of a mountain of ignorance
Defiant
Naysayers disregarded they did not dissuade
Frustrated
Forsaken the masses content with vacuousness
Inspired
Pilgrimage to gain enlightenment and insight
Determined
Challenges bested through striving to overcome
Empowered
Craved to attain the greatest understanding
Undaunted
By the magnitude of my highest undertaking
Aspired
To unravel the paradox of existence

The higher I climbed the harder I fought
Complex questions sported from answers sought
Struggling to cling with my fingers scorched
Scarring reminiscent of harsh lessons taught
Failure's foothold waning of conviction
Like the sickness while kicking an addiction
A feasting leech to be salted and burned
Trepidation shrivels and falls away

Pursuit of knowledge brought painful testing of resolve
Enhancing wisdom means deeper phobias continually evolve
A voyage treacherous and fraught with darkened paths forbidden
Sharpened foresight, and hindsight reveals deadly pitfalls hidden

I have conquered this apex despite
Now into the void I'll take flight
Wingless yet I shall transcend
To begin my ascension again
